Caring for Your Wig
Learning how to properly care for your wig is essential to extend its lifespan. Wigs can last for many years if they are treated with care and respect.
Washing
Similar to natural hair, wigs should be washed when they appear dirty. However, unlike natural hair, they do not regenerate, so it’s crucial to wash them only when necessary to avoid damage. Choosing the right shampoo is important; it depends on factors such as wig length, color, and material (human hair or synthetic).
Drying
After washing, gently dry the wig without using heat, such as a hair dryer, which can cause frizz, especially for synthetic wigs. Air drying is ideal to maintain the wig’s texture and shape.
Storing
Proper storage is key to maintaining the shape of your wig. Always store it on a polystyrene head or wig stand to prevent stretching and maintain its form.
